Vista SP1 -- rumors say to be available about Feb. 15th perengadget
I think it's much ado about nothing. For the most part all it's going to
be is a collection of fixes that have already been released. Bob |

Bob I wasn't implying anything here Bob, just relying the info for the Vista users. No argument from me about what you said (at least for now unless I read to the contrary). |

Bob pretty much what service packs are ? Some contain new "features" that weren't included in the automatic WinUpdates. Easiest example I can grab would be the WinXP SP2 'security monitor' feature that informs you automatically if the WinXP firewall is disabled/or if WinUpdate is turned off/or if your AV definitions are out of date. Not sure what, if any, new features will be included in Vista SP1. Stew |

Stew sp2 was something of a 1 off as everyone was busy exploiting remote network holes in winxp like the messenger service or that remote DDE thing that forced shutdown in 60 seconds etc etc it was a reputation thing ms had to fix generaly windows service packs are bug fix's and not new features |

Just mentioning that it does sometimes happen. |
