Default Epson 1260 / XP Compatibility

My brother is trying to install an Epson 1260 scanner in XP.
Installation of the first driver available from the Epson site gave him
the "has not passed windows logo testing" diagnostic but he proceeded
anyway.Â*Â*EverythingÂ*workedÂ*andÂ*heÂ*scannedÂ*o kÂ*untilÂ*heÂ*rebootedÂ*-Â*thenÂ*
the programs in Start Up didn't start up. He rolled back the driver and
everything was ok.Â*Â*ThenÂ*heÂ*startedÂ*toÂ*installÂ*theÂ*second Â*driverÂ*butÂ*
stopped when he got the same diagnostic.Â*Â*HasÂ*anyoneÂ*hadÂ*thisÂ*problemÂ*
with the 1260?Â*Â*HowÂ*doÂ*youÂ*getÂ*aroundÂ*it?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Trish
