Fast writes - comparisons

Nice comparison here about the effects that fast writes actually have on
performance. I see so many posts on the 'fast writes make my computer
unstable but I will keep it that way because it must make something faster,
right?'... well, here's what looks like a definitive answer.

I wouldn't call a few benchmarks a definitive answer, but that's just
my opinion. It's only one system after all. Show me a much slower
system with the same kind of stats and we'll talk.
