lost Direct3D can anyone help
For some reason I have lost Direct3D. I have DirectX9.0b and the latest
NVidia drivers for my Geforce4 card. I have reinstalled them with no luck. Basically I cannot run any games now, dead in the water. I am using Win98 with the service pack. Can anyone suggest a solution/fix? MikeT |

Reinstall your motherboard drivers.
I had this problem once, though it had not worked in the past. Installing the motherboard drivers fixed everything for me, so it may be worth a shot. Good luck! If I read this right, you've probably run dxdiag.exe and tried the Direct3D
test (the spinning DirectX cube) and it fails. If this is the case, I had the same problem when I switched an old TNT2 for a Geforce 4 MX 440. Uninstalling and reinstalling both DirectX9b and the nVIDIA drivers did not fix the problem. Turned out that there were remnants of old settings under Direct3D in the Windows registry that were not being overwritten. In my case, I uninstalled the nVIDIA drivers, then ran regedit.exe to do a visual check of the registry for Direct3D settings. I found only one entry that I manually deleted. Rebooted, then did a reinstall of DirectX9b and the updated nVIDIA drivers. Everything worked fine after that. "Cynewulf" wrote in message ... Reinstall your motherboard drivers.
