My event log is filling up with errors like these:

Source: nv
Description: Silent Running: Stress test transition: Dynamic -
Performance 3D

or
Silent Running: Stress test transition: Performance 3D - LowPower 3D

Are you using the 50.xx series of leaked drivers on this card ?
