Default Geforce FX 5600 and "Dawn"

I have been using a Jaton Geforce FX 5600/256. Everything works fine
-- games, modelling packages, etc. -- except for the NVidia demos.
Dawn and Ogre both crash. This worries me! Has anyone else
encountered this? If so, was there a solution? Would this be a sign
of a "bad card"? Thanks!

I am running an AMD Athlon 1400, 512 megs DDR RAM, Windows XP Pro,
DirectX 9, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card, and 44.xx detonators.

The NVidia demos need SSE, so they'll only run on Athlon XPs or
Pentium 3/4 machines.. it's a pain, but the demos are only fun for 1
minute anyway, so you're not missing much.

Cheers,
Dean

Or just rename dawn.exe to quake3.exe or 3dmark03.exe, for two easier
minutes of fun.
