Default 6200 LE Temperature

I just installed a 6200LE and Rivatune 2.06 (latest versions I could find)
says that it has no data for my drivers and I need to update Rivatune.

Anyone know of a later version?

Ten minutes into my game Rivatune claims the core temperature is 100 C. Is
that normal for this card?

The heatsink has no fan and I am running with the case open.

Thank you.

Mike

I am responding to my own post.

The temperature of the core remains the same with case cover on. Out of
curiosity I let it run the game for half an hour and it got to 105.

That's about the point where it should self-destruct I think.

So I put in a 120mm Antec case fan. Now the video core never goes above the
mid-sixties.

That's good enough for me.

On a fanless FX5200, I had to put a fan next to it while gaming.
(I use an 80mm for that.)

It could be that the heatsink is not making good contact.

I think that the fact that the heatsink gets extremely hot is evidence that
there is very good heat transfer from the chip to the sink: ) All I had to
do is pump out that big pile of hot air from the case. There is an air
intake in the case for the the video card and and a duct to the cpu. One
120mm fan on the back wall does the trick. This is the best case I've had
over the years and it was free after rebate.

But obviously I can't run a "finger" test with the case cover on. It must
be at a very civilized temperature now because the core temp dropped so
much. The card performs well as-designed and the price is hard to
beat....it also was free after rebate.
