Default Dual DVI

I've noticed in a recent review that some graphics cards come with two DVI
ports and no VGA port. This would seem ideal for driving two TFTs in
digital mode but I always thought that a PC required VGA capability for the
boot-up sequence and fall-back. Does anyone know how these cards achieve
this?

All 2xDVI cards come with DVIVGA adapters. You didn't seriusly think
that graphic makers would abandon the still high market of CRT monitors

By responding to inputs on the AGP, PCI, or PCI Express bus the same way
that any other video board responds to such inputs. The details of the
signal that gets sent to the monitor do not matter at all.
