Default VCD: how to saved a movie to hdd?

Hi! lately my cdrom is not working well and so had to buy a new one.
But can someone advised me how to saved a video cd
onto my d/top pc? and to play that movie from the hard disk?.

Copy the .dat in MPEGAV folder to hard disk, then convert to .mpg:

IsoBuster - Right click the dat, then select "Extact but filter only
M2F2 mpeg frames"

VCDEasy - Use dat-to-mpeg option. VCDEasy v1.1.5.2 is the last free
version and should be around the Web.

If by video cd you mean a regular pressed dvd, download the free dvdshrink
and dvddecrypter (that download might be called setupdvddecrypter).
You might find you only need the first of these.

I think even the free version lets you create image files from CDs.
Also you can mount the image so it loods like a CD/DVD drive to
your players using Daemon Tools freeware.
