Just wondering what type of games (vintage e.g. DX 9.0c etc.) this
graphics adaptor linked to an AMD Turion 2.0Ghz proocessor you could
expect this card to handle and be playable on a laptop?

There are some benchmarks here.

http://www.notebookcheck.com/NVIDIA-...50.2201.0.html

The 9800pro in my current machine, gets about 14000 points in
3dmark2001se. The Nvidia 6100/6150 Go is rated by that web site
as 4000 points. Now, there should be a difference between the
two versions of chip, as the clock rate is slightly different.

It could be the 6150 Go, is less than a FX5200 Ultra.

That means you might have to go back a few years, to find
games that run well. Or turn down the detail level a bit.

I've been playing Quake 3 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein at full spec
- work perfectly. Far Cry also works well at "medium" settings and 1024
x 768 resolution. Quake 4 and Doom 3 are a step too far.

It's surprisingly powerful for an on-board graphics chip - set the frame
buffer size (in BIOS) to 64 Mb and you can have a lot of fun.

Another Dave.
