Default HELP MX420 or MX460 GPU's

Good, if you remove the cooler from the GPU and clean away the
coolerstuff on the GPU,

You should see a black survice, with a metal round with on it what the
GPU is!

For instance if you have an ti4200 it should tell you it as an ti4200.
If it's a ti4400 it should tell you it's an ti4400.

Problem though is ...that is with the TI series.

The GF4 MX series is really much alike the GF2 period and I don't know
sure if when the GF2 was made how they used to mark their GPU's.

Since you miss the Logo and...my best guess is that it should show
itself. I am not sure if you card is an original.

Mmm, what brand is it to begin with....your clockspeeds seem fairly
normal though...

Hi PPL,
I pulled off the cooler on a GF4 MX460 I have here as my
computer keeps freezing since i put in a new card.

There is no mention on my GPU like in the pics of chips i have looked
at all nite.

eg, all pics i have seen on GF4 GPU's have either mx460, 4200, NV17,
NV17S etc you get the idea....

Well my GPU has nothing but the logo & G20715.1 0236A5
C Korea

Question: Do all GF4 GPU's have a marking on them like the examples
above?

Reason is that according to coolbits reg tweak, my mx460 is running a
250 core & a 333 mem & i think its a tweaked mx420...Can anyone
confirm this?

Cheers,
Mal

Thx,
I ended up contacting Nvidia who replied that the core & mem
speeds were infact mx420 setttings & i should send the card back.
Which is what i am going to do as it is surposed to be a mx460. I have
to pay a restocking fee of 20% tho

I better not mention the brand, but it was a cheaper brand which i
have had in the past with no probs but have now learned my lesson.

oh well...
