Default HP Laptop Keyboard

Ive just been speaking to one of my workmates and he thinks is cos
some **** has spilt coffee on it. Is this likely? Can i lever up the
keyboard myself somehow and clean it or do i need to buy a new
one/have it cleaned professionally?

Any help would really be appreciated as i am a bit of a fool
sometimes!
