Shuttle SB75G2 - Comments?
Hey all!
Just found out about the Shuttle SB75G2... Looks pretty nice. My only concern is power supply in these mini units. Does anyone have any comments about this beast? Trying to get a direct link to the Shuttle website, but it's VERY slow... |

Here's the link... http://us.shuttle.com/specs2.asp?pro_id=388 There's also a similar version using an AMD64 chip (SN85G4), but doesn't have gigabit ethernet or video. It uses an NVidia NForce 3 chipset, so I don't understant the lack of video. http://us.shuttle.com/specs2.asp?pro_id=389 |

Biostar IDEQ 200P vs Shuttle SN85G4
Athlon 64 All things considered are equal except: Biostar has: Realtek RTL8110S/RTL8100C Gigabit LAN 10mbps/100mbps/1000mbps 2x 3.5" (1 Internal 1 external) internal parallel port header 2 dp9 serial ports 1394 6 pin on front and back (6pin=power capable) 328.00 @ newegg Shuttle has: Realtek 8201BL 10mbps/100mbps 1x 3.5" Internal External parallel port 1 dp9 serial port 1394 4 pin on front and 6 pin on back (6pin=power capable) 6in1 card reader 349.99 @ newegg As far as hardware and connectors go, I can do RAID with the biostar and have a cdrom (I wonder if twin raptors at RAID0 would cause heat issues) Both have no onboard video, which as far as I am concerned is a plus (i dont want to pay for chunky onboard video when I want to stick my radeon9800xt in the agp8x slot -- again I ponder the heat issue) It is also nice to have the power supplied on my 1394 devices (laptop hd enclosure) and to be able to to plug this in front (4pin needs adaptor and does NOT supply the power) As far as shuttles integrated 6in1 card reader goes, if I really need this, I can a usb 6in1cr on ebay for under ten bucks. I dont own either of these, so I am not familiar with driver issues. With the only information I have been presented, I would go with Biostar. If there is a third choice for sff, please educate me. Also if there are blatent driver, heat, or performance (read OC) issues. My only concern at this point is how would the power supply handle a top end video card and top of the line HDD and DVDRW...
