Sata problem?
When I try to copy a DVD (using legal versions of Any DVD and DVD clone) my
computer crashes after about 8 Paul0% of the project is complete. When I remove the WD raptor disc from the housing and straighten out the SATA cable, no problem is experienced. I use a pentium 4, 512 MB memory, 80 GB HD and WinXP prof. and had a recent clean install of all the software. The event viewer (applications) indicates a "fault bucket 221413042" A google search produced no results The computer is virus free and my feeling is that this is caused by some hardware problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Paul .. |

Paul wrote:

Perhaps the one you have has a loose connection, and is unable to handle full transfer burst rates in its fragile state. Until your new one arrives, try copying the dvd to an image file on your PC at the slowest rate possible. Then burn it at the slowest rate possible. |
