Looking for an authorized Umax repair center in Santa Clara
My Umax Powerlook III seems to have a power supply problem and I prefer
not to send it back to Umax (it's out of warranty). Does anyone know of any repair shops in the Santa Clara valley (preferably), or somewhere in the Bay Area? The Umax website does not seem to provide any links. Thanks, jammon |

Don't be too surprised if you find out there is no such animal. Before digging too hard, give UMAX a call and ask THEM about service. You may find out, as I did, that they consider scanners to be a disposable. If they break toss them as they won't repair them, merely replace them if under warranty. This is the basic story I got from Visioneer a couple of years ago when I was looking to buy a plain scanner bed cover to replace (actually to complement) my ADF on their top of the line (at the time) scanner. Strange but true. |
