Serillel
I would like to know how can you tell the difference between Serillel 1 and
Serillel 2 adaptors. The reason is that I understand the hd using Serillel 2 would be hot swappable as I understood from the Abit site. The adaptor I have is the one that came with the NF7-S2.0 and all it says is Serillel O. Many thanks MikeE |

"MikeE" wrote in message . .. I would like to know how can you tell the difference between Serillel 1 and Serillel 2 adaptors. Main difference is that Serillel II is compatible with ATAPI devices when using Silicon Image controllers. The reason is that I understand the hd using Serillel 2 would be hot swappable as I understood from the Abit site. Think you will need a proper S-ATA compatible power supply (or an S-ATA hot swap drive enclosure) and controller for that to happen reliably. The adaptor I have is the one that came with the NF7-S2.0 and all it says is Serillel O. The Serillel 2 has a round sticker on its side saying "Serillel 2" (along with "Warranty void if removed". -- Richard Hopkins Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom (replace .nospam with .com in reply address) The UK's leading technology reseller www.dabs.com Get the most out of your digital photos www.dabsxpose.com |
