Default New 6800 - demo problems

I've just installed a new GeForce 6800, and I can't seem to run the Nalu &
Clear Sailing demos. All I get is the music and a blank screen with the
menu buttons at the top. The card seems to be OK otherwise, I am able to
run the Vulcan demo, UT2004 and FarCry.

Any ideas?

JB

Can you try using Windows MediaPlayer 9 with DX9?
Also:
Driver ver. 61.76
512MB system mem
128MB video mem.

If you have all above but fail to see the demo movie, then I am at lost.

Try setting the AGP aperture to the same size as the memory on you card.

Just tried that, no luck.

It seems like I have a big problem with OpenGL - I was able to get the Quake
3 Arena demo running at 640x480, but it crashes when I try to change the
screen resolution. The same thing happens with Return to Castle
Wolfenstein. Direct3D games seem to work fine. I've tried reinstalling the
motherboard drivers and the graphics card drivers, but this hasn't helped.

System:

Althon XP 3000+
ABIT KD7 MB (KT400, VIA 4.53)
1Gb DDR333 (2x 512Mb Crucial)
Galaxy GeForce 6800 128Mb (61.77)
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS

Same problem I had, but the 4.53 VIA drivers along with 66.00 Nvidia drivers
(clean install) made Nalu and Clear Sailing work. I have virtually the same
system as you too. I still have problems with the Timbury demo not working
though. Interesting that you mention problems with OpenGL; I can't get Jedi
Academy to work since installing a 6800GT, I get the message:

GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem

Could this be the route of both our problems?

I've just tried the 66.31 drivers and I'm getting better results. All the
demos including Timbury now run, although Nalu 6800 and both versions of
Timbury are very, very slow. I'd be grateful if you could let me know how
Nalu 6800 runs on your GT, as I may be expecting too much from my 6800.

Q3A & RTCW now run, too. I don't have the full version of Jedi Academy, but
the demo gives me the same error that you're getting.

Both Timbury and Nalu run very slowly on my MSI 6800. I suspect it's due
to the memory on the 6800, 128 vs. 256 meg (plus it's slower memory, not
the DD3 used in the higher-end 6800 GT.
