Something wrong with Via? They're doing interesting things.

Or do you just get off on Intel and US-bashing?

Idiot, look at the facts.
Via is nothing.
Sure, if I was AMD I would start a big campaign
'AMD processors not sensitive to xxx(whatever) type of attacks.

AS to Intel bashing, I am typing this on an Intel, although for their
behaviour I would prefer AMD,
But it so happens the eeePC I am using has Intel in it,
I have to give them credit for that design (I think the design is Intel's).
And I _do_ hope AMD gets over it, as we need competition,
For sure AMD having the graphics now may become a threat to Nvidia.
And YES the US sucks, dollar soon to 100 Euro, oil will fall I suppose once
the Saudi king loses his pawn in the white house, and that would reduce the need
to pester Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, for oil, as McCain wants 100 nuclear plants,
and then maybe they start war in uranium producing countries, as war is needed
to keep the weapon industry going, but WTF do I care,
I am in Europe, the eeePC is made in the east, in America they will soon only
travel on horse as nobody there can afford 1K$/gallon.
So, apart from politics, YES AMD IS NOT SENSITIVE TO THAT ATTACK.

HP is putting Via processors into subnotebooks. Via is apparently
doing what AMD did with some (fleeting) success, which is to exploit
the opportunities created by Intel's market segmentation strategies.

Plenty to talk about, just not much room for Intel-bashing.

Robert.

Must be yourS, no wonder group is 'desA', it is your brain that is.
I gave a simple IntereSting technical argument against using Intel processors,
accompanied by a clear ';-)',
and here come those moronic facists postings from Meyers and you.
Your country (well the US actually) is going the way all big empires have gone
in history, and as far as I am concerned
UNLESS YOU HAVE SOMETHING TECHNICAL TO STATE HERE wHAT I DOUBT
so can you as far as I am concerned.
Never seen a posting from you here before, an better keep it that way.

No, no doubt or wonder. You are neglecting "stored energy".
Consider instead an avalanche effect -- a small trigger releases
a very large amount of energy. Hardly surprising, this is how
transistors work. And I suspect there is more to come.

Those were some fun times, I must admit. A good controversy, with
Rambust. Plus the usual Intel/AMD flame wars. 8)

Please have the courtesy to spell my name correctly. The idea that I
am a fascist, that I have fascist tendencies, or that espouse fascist
ideals is simply laughable.

I do not think that the cause of having meaningful technical
discussions is advanced by x-bashing, where x is anything, but
especially when it's off topic. It's my fault for reminding you of
your dual tendency to bash Intel and the US, thus apparently
triggering yet another attack.

As to facts, the fact is that, even if your beloved AMD goes out of
business, Intel will not be the only supplier of x86, an ISA that AMD
played a critical role in locking in.

Yes you are in Europe, soon to be known as Islamic Republic (or
Khalifate - WTF do I care) of Eurabia. All this will happen because
of the leftie idiots like you that use every opportunity to stick it
to Uncle Sam, yet let in hordes of arabs and other muslims, let them
establish their own way of life right in the heart of EU, and fear to
even tell them that their way of life is not compatible with Western
civilization - it's oh so politically incorrect to offend minorities
by action or even word. Soon this oppressed minority will become the
ruling majority in EU, establish sharia courts and all 9 yards. If
you are lucky you'll be licking Uncle Sam's boots thanking him for
saving your European asses the umptiest time around from the troubles
you've got yourselves into. If you are less lucky you'll be licking
Uncle Sam's boots thanking him for giving you a refuge from the
aforementioned troubles. And if you are unlucky... Well, you'll be
praying to Mecca 10 times a day jelous to us Americans for us not
needing to do so. Wish you luck.
