Hey ya "Chrisv", I remember you. A year or two ago that statement (re AMD)
would have generated a decent, lively thread. Man it just kills me to see
this NG dead and gone. Been lurking here under one alias or another since
about 1996. Has technology simply gone stale, or what?

The J.C. period of c.s.i.p.h.c. was arguably a complete waste of BW, but a
crackup just the same. Oh would that those days could return
again......snif. ;-)

Something wrong with Via? They're doing interesting things.

Or do you just get off on Intel and US-bashing?

HP is putting Via processors into subnotebooks. Via is apparently
doing what AMD did with some (fleeting) success, which is to exploit
the opportunities created by Intel's market segmentation strategies.

Plenty to talk about, just not much room for Intel-bashing.
