Hey ya "Chrisv", I remember you. A year or two ago that statement (re AMD)
would have generated a decent, lively thread. Man it just kills me to see
this NG dead and gone. Been lurking here under one alias or another since
about 1996. Has technology simply gone stale, or what?

Lurking. Not much interesting going on in the PC world (or the
larger processor world, IMO).

How's retirement?

Haven't worked harder in 25 years, since. Finished all the projects
around the house, sold it, and escaped from VT last year. Now
making the big bux contracting to a defense contractor (even more
screwed up than Big Blue), until recently working much OT.

Something wrong with Via? They're doing interesting things.

HP is putting Via processors into subnotebooks. Via is apparently
doing what AMD did with some (fleeting) success, which is to exploit
the opportunities created by Intel's market segmentation strategies.

Plenty to talk about, just not much room for Intel-bashing.
