Hi,
Duron 1600 runs at 133MHz external front side bus frequesncy. Once you set this inside the BIOS it will come up as 1600. Guy Custom Computers Online www.pricepc.com |

Guy Custom Computers Online www.pricepc.com it's again me in fact there is nop jumper on my fid (the multipilicator) so the number is 24 or 11 but the minimal fsb is 200 so 11*200=2200Mhz or i find only 1200Mhz! and i can'found any doc of the k7vm4 (exepct the manual) on internet well if i do the calcul :the fsb minimal is 200 so 1200/200=6 or 266 so 1200/266=4.5 or 333 so 1200/333=3.6 (3.5?) i don't remember my fsb (my bios crashed) so i don't understand nothing, why it's so hard? why when i buy a duron 1600 i work with only 1200? pfffffff |

Guy Custom Computers Online www.pricepc.com OK i try several thing s befor your message and,the computer crash!!! I say 'bip bip bip' serach on the floppy and say 'bip bip'again. Well, to answer your first question it sounds like the front side bus is at the wrong speed. However, if you bought this computer this setting should have already been configured for you. Has the computer always said it is running at 1200 and you are attempting to fix it now or have you tried to upgrade the computer any info might be helpful. As it stands it sounds like the Front Side Bus is set to the wrong frequency. To change this you will have to open up the computer and move a Jumper on the motherboard. looking at the motherboard from front to back where back is the back of the computer the jumper is located behind and slightly to the left of the CMOS battery(the round silver object) on the left side of the motherboard and to the right of a chip(might be labeled as "VIA VT8235CE") as you go back if you reach the expansion slots then you have gone to far. The jumper has three pins that run front to back and should be labeled "FS0" remove the jumper if there is one. That should fix your first problem. Hope this helps |
