Default problem with a ti 4600

Hi Gareth

You're running a BETA version of DirectX 9.0. Try uninstalling that version
of Dx and rollback to DX9a and see what happens. A beta version of any
software usually has bugs and that could possibly be the cause of your
problem. you can download "directX buster" from Guru3d.com or similar site.

See how that goes

Hi all,

I have got a problem with a Geforce 4 Ti 4600 AGP Graphics card. When I
start to play an mp3 or use Microsoft word, the screen flickers. When

that
happens the computer freezes. The only thing that I can do is to hit the
restart button. When the computer restarts, I get blue lines on the

windows
2000 logo screen and it doesn't boot into windows. I only get a black
screen. Sometimes I have to hit the restart button a few time to get into
windows and it starts all over again. I have updated my motherboard and
graphics card drivers. And it still does the same thing. If anyone has

any
other idea I would be glad to hear them.

PC Spec:
NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600 128MB AGP (Creative Labs)
Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 4
Intel Pentium III 1200MHz
1024MB RAM
DirectX 9.0b
Gigabyte GA-6VTXE
Enermax 430w

Regards
Gareth

WOOPS!
Looks like I made a booboo! I didn't notice that DX9 beta is now officially
B. Sorry.
You could still try downgrading it tho.

Hello,

since when is DX9.0b a beta version ? If it would then why is it
officially listed on Microsofts Windows Update list ? I got it from just
adding all updates there were and I don't think MS is putting beta
software as a recommended update on their site!
