Print Settings Won't stick

I on Win 2k.
I have an HP 932C printer.

I cannot get the settings:

"Start Printing from last page"
"Print quality - Draft"
"Print in GrayScale"

to stay put.

the driver is
Microsoft
11.14.1999
version - 5.0.2103.1

I have modified the settings from wordpad,
but they do not stick.

I have installed the HP printer driver

930-enu-win2k.exe
version 1.1

but the micrsoft driver is stil there.

Any Help would be appreciated.

Some applications store the settings you choose with each document; some for
the application as a whole; and some not at all. My guess is that WordPad,
being worth every penny you paid for it, is in the third category.

Set the properties for the printer, itself, with the Settings ...
Printers... screen. That will make them the default systemwide.

I don't know about WordPad but I have had success with some programs
by creating a template in exactly the page and printer set-up I want
and saving it. Every time I used that program I opened the template,
did a document then saved (save as command) the doc under another name
(don't use the save command until you have changed the document name).

Have you made the HP driver the default driver?
