Anyone have a clue as to when DVD-R DL Drives will come out?

Already out, by Benq/Phillips, NEC, LiteOn and Sony.

Already out, by Benq/Phillips, NEC, LiteOn and Sony.

No, those are DVD+R DL drives.

To answer the OP - there is no DVD-R DL media yet.

ive got a NEC ND-2510A 8x dual layer drive form www.overclockers.co.uk
cost me less than £70 quid.

Not had any dual layer discs to try yet though

I just got my NEC ND2510A from Ebuyer for £57.46 Seems to work good with their
Datawrite Classic grey top x8 DVD-R as well at £11.22 for 25, they play in
everything I've tried (Xbox, Toshiba stand-alone player, itself, and another
DVD-ROM in a PC which I think is an Alfreey). CDR's seem fine as well, tried 2
cheap makes only so far.

Forgot to say.... I haven't been able to try DL's yet either. They're going to
be for special occasions only though, what with x2.4 speed and higher cost.
