Default RADEON 9700/9800 Power Extension Cable question

Is this a standard type of cable that can be bought from a computer or
electronic store, or is do you need the specific ATI cable?

This is the standard 4-pin power connector used for hard drives, etc.
You might not even need the extension cable if you have a free connector
already.

It depends on the brand and type of GPU. The Radeon 9700 Pro built by ATI
and Radeon 9800 Pro built by Sapphire both use a standard floppy power plug.
Most of the newer boards use the standard molex.
