Default bootable Ghost CD with "Press any key to boot from cd" option

Hithere,

With a lot of help from information on the internet I managed to create a
bootable cd that fully automaticaly starts Symantec Ghost, and restores an
image file from one partitition to another.

There is only one thing that I can't get the way I would like it.

Usually when you have a bootable cd in your pc (like a Windows CD) when it
starts up, there is a screen saying 'Press any key to boot from CD'.
I also want this option with my bootable 'Ghost' cd, but the way it is now,
it gives you no option, and immediatly starts to run from cd.

What can I do to to have this option?

It is probably not a bios issue, since my pc does ask for the 'Press any key
....' with a Windows CD.
I assume it has something to do with the floppy-emulation option in Nero
when you create a bootable cd, (which I used) but I can't exactly figure it
out.

Help!

tia, Noot

The "Press any key" is not a function of BIOS, but must be specifically =
added to the CD. Try this page, Bart's free JO.SYS: =

Noot,
That's a function of your Windows CD and Operating system,it's
Windows that's offering you the chance to boot from the CD or not.

I also want this option with my bootable 'Ghost' cd, but the way it is now,
it gives you no option, and immediatly starts to run from cd.

That's what happens with an ordinary bootable CD,your pc just treats it
the same as a bootable floppy disk.

What can I do to to have this option?

Nothing AFAIK.

It is probably not a bios issue, since my pc does ask for the 'Press any key

I really don't think it's anything to do with Nero.

Help!

Sorry,no can do.

Do this
1) Download this file http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/tools/ghostbt.exe Pop
a floppy into the drive and double click the download to create a bootable
floppy
2)Next from your "\Program Files\Symantec\Norton Ghost 2003" directory copy
"ghost.exe" and "ghost.env" to the floppy.
3) Boot the Computer with the floppy and then use it to create an image to
your CD Burner. When prompted to make the CD bootable just say Yes. The
floppy will be read and burned to the first CD in the backup set.

or

You can use an app like Nero and select from New Compilation-CD-Rom [Boot]
or Easy CD Creator and select the option File-New Project-Bootable Disc.
Then pop the above floppy into the drive and copy your Ghost image files to
the project. The floppy will be burned to CD during the creation of the CD.
The boot files are hidden but when you start the computer with the CD it
will boot to Ghost with CD-Rom support.

Thanks for replying,

I had tried this Jo.sys file, but without succes. With my Ghost boot disk
including this Jo.sys file, my pc stopped booting after the bios screen.

I got the idea that maybe there was a conflict with pc-dos, so I made the
Ghost boot disk with MS-Dos.

And now, succes!
