Power Saving Mode on DL385
When I put a dual core 2.2 GHz DL385 into the BIOS power saving mode, the
system boots up at 1.8 GHz. What regulates whether the system will then later raise to 2.2 GHz? Does this require installation of a Windows driver to help the system hardware determine the CPU load is high? -- Will |

http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/pscmi...-qanda.html#d5 the speeds will be kicked up when more processing power is required. Sounds like Cool n Quiet, but for servers. This is probably what you are looking for he http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/cont...mdcpusetup.exe "Will" wrote in message ... I wonder how tunable that driver is, and whether the speed switching technology is reliable. It would be very very nice if they had a system gadget for Windows where you could manually turn up the speed while you are working at the console, and when that times out after 30 minutes then it reverts back to the slower speed. Particularly on a dual core 2.8 and above, you could probably save a lot of energy expenses. -- Will |
