Default Problems, with nero? dvd burner?

I recently took my computer apart and cleaned it out, and re assembled it.
Then I reformatted the harddrive, and reinstalled apps and other crap.
Anyhow, now it seems that When I burn a dvd (using a NEC 2500a and I use
Nero) the light instead of staying solid flashes on and off and goes very
slow. Before reformatting and reinstalling it wouldnt burn to 8x with 8x
rydata's (I never had 8x media before so I dont know about other types). The
highest It would go is 4x. No it burns like crap.

Any help would is greatly appreciate , happy holidays.
