Default Newsgroup for DVD/CD ROM drive hardware issues?

Don't know if this is the correct group, but I've got a weird SONY
DW-U18 DVD RW drive problem...

It just dropped dead (won't read, but system recognizes the drive) in
my home system after working fine for about a month. When I plug it
into my work machine it works fine.

Any suggestions or help pointing me to a group that would be
appropriate to discuss this problem?

Thanks.

Reg

PS - I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling through Device
Manager with no luck.
