Hi

Ive just got my 1st nvidia card (yup - u read that right!)

So - as Call of Duty keeps crashing on me - what are the best drivers for a
Winfast A350 FX5900?

Thanks - and apologies if this is a common post

53.03 ( winxp/2000 )
53.04 ( win 98/me)

Doesn't crash for me at all . 53.03/ BFG 5900 overclocked.

Updated with latest patch ?

You may otherwise have some sort of system corruption or residual
from previous drivers. Did you reboot your machine in plain vanilla
VGA before pulling the old video card ? If your previous card
was Ati, use Driver Cleaner 2.0 to remove BOTH nVidia
and Ati drivers and re-install the nVidia driver.

Its a newly put together system -

-Asus A7N8X DeLuxe, Athlon XP2500 Barton, Winfast A350 FX5900 (128) and
512mb
PC3200-

Been up and running 24hrs - so its fresh. Other than board & graphics
drivers (supplied with card) nothing else has been installed other than CoD

I'll try those 53.03 drivers methinks!

Thx

Also check that your sound drivers are entirely current ---another
potential source of crashes. Also do not overclock anything
until you have a confirmed-stable system. Leave the nVidia
Temperature Settings (and monitor) up on the desktop screen.
Start COD. Most apps will Alt-Tab out to desktop, just you can jump
from full 3D-mode directly to desktop and see exactly what
your GPU peak temp measures. (Typically the GPU core-temperature
drops by 3-4 degrees one second after Alt-Tabbing from a high-
performance full-screen 3D game )
