Time to mod my Gigabyte Radeon 9800 PRO?
Hello everybody,
I guess if I should apply some Artic Silver Ceramique between the stock HSF and the chip, plus adding some coolers to those memory chips. The old Maya II Radeon 9700 PRO featured a bigger HSF combo that was capable of cooling the memory modules as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Best regards. -- Preferirei essere chiamato genio di male... |

I`ve got a MayaII Radeon 9700 Pro, had trouble with the fan seizing and
would crash when any 3D work was done. Although it has a large HSF its aluminium. I`ve changed it to a Vantec Iceberq4 which is copper and also comes with copper memory coolers and thermal tape. Its a lot better than the stock one. I aslo have used Ceramique on my Radeon and CPU which gives a 3 degree drop under full load compared to other thermal paste.
