Overclocking Duron 700

Hi guys, I am new to overclocking. How much can a Duron 700 be overlcoked without taking too much of a risk of failure? About 900Mhz. How is it done? Multiplier x FSB = cpu speed. how you cahne these depends on your MB. You'll have to unlock the duron by closing the L1 bridges on it before changing the multiplier. If your MB support a 133MHz FSB, you might get it up to 7x133 (933MHz) just by setting the fsb to 133. Might need to raise vcore too. Just depends. -- Abit KT7-Raid (KT133) Tbred B core CPU @2400MHz (24x100FSB) http://mysite.verizon.net/res0exft/cpu.htm |

Unless ambient air is very cold, this needs a costly hsink e.g. Thermalright, or bulky / noisy water cooler. http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/01q...cooler-09.html My D750 can work @133 x 6½, 1.575v. 133 x 7 in 28°C ambient will need @ least 1.675v, & a bigger hsink of 0.35°C /w. |

That's a shame. It just seems to me that the effort is kinda wasted trying to get a couple of megahertz out of such an old chip. Sorry. -- ************************************************** **************************** Registered Linux User Number 185956 http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...ff&group=linux Join me in chat at #linux-users on irc.freenode.net This email account no longers accepts attachments or messages containing html. 11:19am up 15 days, 23:53, 5 users, load average: 0.10, 0.09, 0.09 |
