Default Dual core hotfix

Has anyone installed the new "Dual Core Hotfix
from Microsoft ? Does it really improve the slow
performance of a dual core chip under XPSP2 ?

Some of the articles I have read are showing
a large performance decrease with dual core
and SP2. Has anyone here had a problem ?
I found the articles with a search on google using
the phrase (Dual Core Hotfix)

Thanks Mike

Make sure that you have version 3 (or later).( Ignore the
documentation on AMDzone; it documents the 25 June version and the
file change list is distinctly out of dare.) Go to MS Knowledge Base
Article 896256 and copy the documentation there. Rev 3 is the current
version of the Hotfix. The file itself on AMDZone appears to be the
latest..

To verify that you have the latest copy of the file:-

Right click on the file (WinXPdualcorehotfix.exe). select Properties
click on the Version tab, check Version 3.0.0.0. also while Version
window is open, click on "Build Date". It should be 2005/09/29.
