Using 133FSB processors in a 100FSB board (Intel L440GX)
Is it possible to use processors with a 133 front side bus in a board that
supports a maximum 100 FSB? Like RAM, would they simply run at 100 or would they be incompatible? I'm considering 533Mhz Pentium IIIs in an Intel L440GX board. Thanks, James |

Your problems are far more serious than merely running a 533 at 400 MHz.
The L440GX is a 2 cpu server board that takes SECC2 processors. So you would need adapters for the 533/133MHz cpus. Lots of luck. Frankly wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a cheap mobo for the 533s? Do you have one of the newer versions of the board that support "Coppermine" processors?: http://support.intel.com/support/mot...X/procsupp.htm |
