Slight off topic :- Help , i need to monitor via audio over the web in a
covert fashion....

Hi , i need to install some kind of mic (usb etc) to a pc , and then hide
the mic , but have some software that loads covertly when the pc is turned
on and transmits the sound via the web , so i can monitor from any computer
linked to the net.

I know theres a lot of talk about this kind of thing for web cams , but not
just for sound , anyone point me in the right direction please.

TIA

Sure fire away , basically i wants to monitor a room in the house , i
suspect foul play , the computer can be left on , with the software running
covertly in the back ground , often the pc is left on most of the time
anyhow , but the software needs to be covert , i've looked around on most of
the spy web stores , but nothing showing , mainly just voice activated
recorders etc.

any advice ??!?!?

Get a copy of the Ivista webcam program that also does audio off
of ebay. Ther are programs and scripts that can make programs
invisible (except for taskmaster) when they run.

Si , thank you , i did a quick check on ivista and was pointed towards
webcam32 due to ivista having problems with SP2 , webcam32 sounds like a
nice piece of software , have you had or heard of any good/bad experince
with this software?

any links to scripts / easy to use programs (i'm a novice) that will enable
me to run this program convertly .

Best regards and thank you.

Do a google search for trayit.zip to make the program invisible.
The webcam32 audio is not nearly as good as the ivista version.
Stay away from SP2.

Thank you once again , i'm also considering a ip based camera that plugs
into the network , these sound great , according to the specs on these types
of cameras , the camera has its own ip address , i'm going to call a few of
these companys tommorow to find out more , as my adsl connection is not a
fixed ip , so i'm wondering how well these work if the computer has to be
reset for some reason or other , or does that not effect the cameras ip and
i can still log in no probs.??!?!

cheers you've been most helpful.

Using port fowarding on your router and a service like
www.no-ip.com to track the changing IP address will usually fix
those types of prpoblems.
