Default Cat 3.9 and Call of Duty doesn't start

Updated from 3.7 to 3.9 and now Call of duty won't start. "encountered
problem blah blah..."
tried every possible setting in the 3D tab but nothing worked.

Went back to 3.7 and all's well.

Ed, I have used 3.8 and now 3.9 with CoD and have had no problems. What type
of mainboard do you have? Have you updated the drivers lately?

Brilliant grammar for one calling other people stupid. How about learning
how to write before you spout a bunch of unnecessary obscenities? I know I
probably shouldn't be feeding the troll ;-/

Cat 3.9 drivers have broken the opengl for all games if you have a AIW Card,
All in Wonder. Direct3d Works fine.

This is only if you have a AIW card. If you have a normal radeon than opengl
should work in cat 3.9.
Cat 3.8 should work fine with AIW cards though.

Hey.
Uninstall Driver and controll panel. Search for ati in the windows catalog
and remove everything u find. Then install 3.9 and it will be ok. Works 100%
here in Xp.

I have 9800Pro, no AIW but had the same ogl problems and COD would not start
before i removed everyting that was ati stuff from my win catalog.
When i "reloaded" the 3.9 it was ok, had the same problem with 3.8`s.

Same problem. I believe opengl32.dll (8/29/2002 in XP Pro SP1) is incompatible
with this driver. I also have an AIW card.

Hi,yes I have an AIW 9700.
My mainboard is an Abit IC7-G. Newest BIOS and everything has newest drivers
except the 9700(which I set back to 3.7)
I'm using WinXP Pro and i have SP1 installed too.
Sounds like I'm not alone. Thanks for the replies everyone.
