When you do so you get 79 choices. You can then choose IEEE1394 as a keyword and get it down to 22 or so choices. And go from there. This option selection menu is worthwhile even if you don't shop at newegg. dick -- but newegg is a very good place to shop and I recommend it highly as do many others in this group. |

Here is the top-end Intel Motherboard for your configuration:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...121-206&depa=1 It is not as fast as the recommended ASUS Motherboard and would not be the choice if you want to over clock, but it is a good choice. This is what I am currently using. Here is good memory for it if you are not looking to over clock. http://www.crucial.com/store/MPartsp...SPN=CT6464Z40B (sam unwise) wrote in message . com... hi,im geting ready to put together my first pc,but im kind of stuck on the motherboard.can anyone recommend a good pick?im looking for something with integrated usb2,firewire,and audio.also i want to put in a intel p4 3+ghz 800mhz fbs with hyper threading and 4 184pin ddr dimm slots which i want to add in 4 512mb ddr sdram strips into. thanks for any help |

Intel D865PERL has all your asking for, USB 2, onboard LAN, 5.1 sound,
dual memory banks, SATA hard drives. See it at Intel's site. Get a P4 at 3 Ghz with HT for it. Note that over 3Ghz requires a better PC case, needs more cooling. (Search on "Super Alien-x PC case" for an awesome case). Asus P4P800 Deluxe would be a good motherboard. It is probably a good
choice. Abit also has some nice motherboards. After that also Intel Motherboards are good. Look for the Intel 865 series of chipsets. The 875 series of chipsets which are only slightly faster, but cost quite a bit more.
