what would it take to network firewire external enclosure?
Gordon wrote in message om... This is something I was thinking about when I came across an ad for that has space for 2 3.5" drives in a firewire enclosure. I looked that the diagrams and there are two firewire ports, one I assume is to connect to the PC and the other for daisychaining other enclosures(?). I have three pc's at home. What would it take to have that enclosure be accessable by all three machines? Is that doable? Nope, because you would have more than one master on the firewire. essentailly it would be hooking up the enclosure to the network somehow right? Fraid not because firewire aint a peer to peer network. Neither is USB2, you need extra to connect two PCs using USB2. or not worth the trouble. Correct. |
