Default Cant install W98SE video drivers IS7-V2

W98SE, latest BIOS revision...

I've tried 2 different 4X AGP cards and I keep getting the message...

"This driver does not support your video card"

And the install aborts.

Best I can get with W98SE is VGA - 640x480 w/16 colors

However under Linux i have no trouble at all, 1024x768x16mill.

I'm grasping at straws here (built my own machines for years now) as I've
never seen this before.

Here's hoping someone encountered and solved this problem.

TIA.
