Default Should I remove my Tualatin's IHS?

I'm having trouble running my modded Celeron 1000A @ 1333. It keeps locking up
my system within 5 minutes after starting a 3D game or watching a DivX movie.
Prime95 is stable though for hours. The system freezes completely
(mouse+keyboard not responding, image freezes on the monitor, need to push the
reset button). Prior to that there are no symptoms of decay, no error
messages, no BSOD, no crashing programs.
I've tried bumping up voltage to 1.75V, improving airflow, better cooling,
rewiring AK4-AN11 to AK4-AK26 but none of this worked.
There is only one thing I could try and that is removing the IHS. Maybe there
is bad contact between IHS and core. What do you group think of this. Are
instant lockups heat related and would removing the IHS solve my problem? Or
am I just having bad luck with this cpu (Philippines, somewhere in 2001, don't
remember the week) and will it never reach 1333?

Some additional info:
The system ran before with a Tualatin Celeron 1100@1525 so all components are
133MHz bus approved
Specs :
-- MSI BXMaster mobo
-- MS6905Master v2.3 slotket (the best!)
-- AN3 - AJ3 - AK4 insulated AK4-AN11 connected
-- 1.65V
-- 2 x 256 MB Apacer PC133CAS2 // GF4Ti4600 // SB Live! // WinMe ...

Have you tried testing your ram with memtest86?

Yes, my ram is fine up to FSB = 150MHz CL2. My setup was running a Celeron
1100@1525. I switched only the cpu with a Cel 1000 for testing purposes,
hoping to get at least 1333 MHz.

Yep, also tried with a matrox G400 in stead of the GF4Ti4600. Same result.

No Not all celerons are equal and you will ruin your warranty.

Exactly. And if it only happens in 3d games or DivX movies I'd suspect the
graphics sub-system/drivers. AGP bus out of spec?
