Default 7VRXP CPU upgrade question

I've got a 7VRXP Rev 1.1 Currently it's got an old XP1700+ and a
512megs PC2700 RAM.

I'm looking at slapping in a new CPU and another 512megs of RAM.

What's the best CPU that I can mount on this board?

Take the time to read Gigabyte's CPU compatibility chart for your board.
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Motherboard/Support/CPUSupportList/CPUSupportList_GA-7VRXP%20(Rev%201.1).htm

The short answer is XP 2600+ (266 MHz bus version).

Ian.

Oh yeah, check the BIOS version required as well. It's listed on the same
chart.

There is no "BEST". Find one you like to do the job, then see if the
board will handle it. Mine is runnig fine at 2GHZ using an AMD cpu.
