Where is the info about using Windex to clean the print head? I need to
know how to move the print head to reveal the pads. Thanx. |

Move the heads the same way you would do to replace the cartridges,
then pull the power lead out, after which the heads can be moved freely by hand. Davy |

I do NOT recommend removal of the print head or soaking it in either
water or windex to unclog it, as described in this posting below. There are much safer methods that work very well. Trouble is with Epson, once they start to clog they will always be
clogging. There is forever problem after problem with clogging and Epson APPEARS to be the leader, my Epson clogged on the 2nd day, due to print head failure some months later it was replaced and that clogged on the 4th day and all with Epson ink. If you want to get away from clogging I would suggest looking at other brands, no no, I am not asking you to take my advice I rather you see for yourself, look through all the forums, view user's comments on various shopping channels on printers, you will see the problem's encountered with ALL printers and which to avoid. I was sick of the clogging and ink wastage I 'clodded' it and bought a Canon ip5000 and never ever had a clog since, I say that with ALL honesty. Tell me if I am right in a few months time. Davy |

I AGREE THAT THEY HAVE A TENDENCY TO CLOG MORE THAN CANON PRINTERS BUT IN THEIR DEFENSE I KNOW PEOPLE WHO HAVE USED THEM FOR A YEAR WITHOUT CLOGGING. BUT THEY DO USE EPSON OEM INK AND THEY DO PRINT EVERY DAY. I THINK THAT IF YOU TAKE AWAY EITHER OF THOSE THEN YOU MAY EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS. Then explain my brother's epson 5200 that clogged right away when a new Epson ink cart was installed. No 3rd party ink ever touched this printer and it still clogs like crazy and was quite unuseable as printer. The tendacy to clog Epson printer is way out of proportion with other ink printers. Sorry but even Epson ink does clog the printer and Epson choose not to get this fixed permantly on their printers. On the other brand, I've had HP ink jet printer for 2 years with mixed OEM and 3rd party carts and refilled myself several times. The only time they clogged is when the cart's been refilled more than a few times and has wore itself out. oh and check your caps lock key. TYPING IN ALL CAPS is one way to get killfiled quickly. -- When you hear the toilet flush, and hear the words "uh oh", it's already too late. - by anonymous Mother in Austin, TX To reply, replace digi.mon with phreaker.net |

Measerhithead is a paid spammer for canon. His all cap oem-won't-clog bull**** is the best can come up with. Don't pay any attention to this moron. Frank |
