Worth getting new graphics card?
Hello again. I have a MSI KT3 Ultra (VIA KT333 chipset), 512Mb Corsair
PC3200 RAM, Athlon XP2500+ Currently I have a GeForce 4 MX440. My motherboard only supports AGP 4X. Now I quite fancy a new graphics card, either for about 150 GBP or pushing the boat out for Half Life2, one of the new DirectX 9 mega expensive ones. Is there any point if I have AGP 4X? Or will it not be worth the money? I don't want to upgrade the motherboard right now. Thanks as usual. -- Susan |

Most of what is "going on" in 3D rendering is being done in hardware on the card using it's own memory. And yes upgrading the card will make a big improvment. I just went from a ti4200 to an ATI 9800pro 128meg and it's at least 2x faster. -- Stacey |
