Level playing field with Intel?

Looks like AMD is finally in level playing field with Intel by making a major deal with Dell. However, by looking at the following link, is this deal a good thing? http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=32723 Is it my imagination, or is it that Dell is having issues or recalls every other month?
