Default Setting up webserver

Is there any info on setting up webservers, we are interested in setting up
our own server so clients may access backups of thier programs, etc.

If you're runnng Win98, use PWS, Personal Web Server, available on the
Win98 install CD. For NT, use IIS.

In my experience the windows webserver is very basic and the apache
webserver is hard to use.

Aprelium www.aprelium.com makes Abyss Web Server which is free, easy to use
via a web interface and has support for CGI, PHP, access control and other
features.

It also uses very few system resources and is multiplatform which is a very
good thing for those running a 486 linux box under the stairs for example.

Yes Apache is hard to use but I've used a few different webservers,
including a fairly simple one I desgned myself. Apache was and is the most
stable, and also if you read the docs its pretty straight forward.
