Default upgrade question

atm i have a P4 2.4B on a asus p4pe/L mobo with 1gb ram,

i have a chance to sell my cpu/mobo/ram since someone i know want to upgrade
his old 300mhz.

is it a good time to upgrade with a northwood and keep my 2.4 for now or go
with the prescott, seem the northwood cpu is almost at the end of the road.

from some review the prescott ( first batch) seem not so great)

what board you guys recommend with the prescott ? will the zalman
CNPS7000A-AlCu work with a prescott?

would you recommand the 3.0C Ghz or the 3.0E Ghz?
