Default Linux ATI drivers not working

I put a radeon 7500 in my computer, and installed a DRI driver from
this site: http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/ (that's what ATI said to do
on their site).

Now, the X server doesn't start. In the Xorg.0.log, it says:
"(EE) No drivers available

Fatal server error:
no screens available"

Help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks
