HP-Notebook Ausio Ausgabe
HP X 2 Notebook - WIN 10 Home
Wolfgang |

Wolfgang Use a headset (both headphones and microphone) instead of separate devices (speakers and mic). Can you go into Sound Settings to select which device is used for playback and which device is used for record? Right-click on the volume icon in the system tray, select Sound Settings from the context menu, and pick what you want for Output and what for Input. You did not mention the model number of the x2. I picked one out of many and found its manuals listed at: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product...443302/manuals The user manual, page 6, shows the audio-out/audio-in jack, which says: NOTE: When a device is connect to the jack, the computer speakers are disabled. Page 20 says: Connecting headphones You can connect wired headphones to the headphone jack or the audio-out (headphone)/audio-in (microphone) combo jack on your computer. Yet their pics listing the various parts of the computer only show the audio-out/audio-in jack, and no headphone jack. That means they expect you to plug in a headset (headphones + mic) and not just headphones only or mic only. Alternatively, use a USB microphone instead of a wired one into the audio-out/audio-in jack. |

Wolfgang Here is an example of simultaneous output. https://www.intowindows.com/use-spea...in-windows-10/ By setting Speakers as Default device, plugging in headphones with microphone, setting the Record tab to listen to the microphone, you can set something there so that the headphones get the same signal as the speakers. As for the jack itself, it's possible it is a 4 contact jack. A TRRS plug fits into that. Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve. I do not have the pinout. It would be similar to S Ground R Right-Headphone R Left-Headphone T Monophonic-microphone The documentation also suggests "audio jack does not work with microphone-only devices". Note that the pinout of the jack, is non-standard, as it's a four contact jack. The reason a plain microphone will not work, is the microphone signal needs to be on Tip. Yet, most microphones use a TRS, not a TRRS. To make a microphone-only work, you need to wire up an adapter (TRS to TRRS). Jack Headphone Headphone+Mic Mic-Only Mic-Only (Obscure) StereoMic Ground Ground Ground Ground Ground Ground Right Right Right Bias RightMic+Bias Left Left Left Mic-In LeftMic+Bias Mic Mic+Bias Mic+Bias (TRRS) TRS TRRS TRS TRRS TRS (works) (works) (no!) (unheard of (should work HDaudio, wiring) but does not work) Since you seem to have Headphone+Mic with TRRS, my guess is you will need no horrible hardware experiments, and visiting the sound dialog in Windows 10 will be sufficient to resolve the problem. The above is a "guess" as to how the hardware works. I'm using the circumstantial evidence provided, to make this guess. Only a circuit schematic could verify this. Paul |
