I bought one to hook into my home network.

The one thing I did right away was add 512 meg of memory, it was really
slow without it.

How did that happen?
I tried adding more RAM to my ****ario and it kept crashing.
A long time acquaintance who runs a computer store told me that the only
solution was to
remove the extra RAM and go back to the semi-original 48 megs.

What model Presario do you have? We have a Presario 5245---AMD-K-6-2,
400MHz---that originally came with 96 megs of RAM. We upgraded to 256 megs
with no problem.

What brand memory do you have? In my opinion, Crucial and Kingston are
pretty good, and they are highly recommended on many computer message boards.
