I'm not sure whether it really is the same thing or not, but I had the same
thing with my 7VAXP Ultra board. When I plugged the power lead in the back
it would boot up. I found the problem in the BIOS. There's an option in
the Power management Setup menu called "AC Back Function" which I found, if
set to "Soft-Off", solved the problem for me. I'm not sure if you board's
BIOS has this function, but if it does try it and hopefully that will solve
the problem.

I bought a enermax whisper quiet 460 a week ago and installed it on a
new 8KNXP. Here's the deal; when i turn ps power on, the cpu, fans, cd,
etc turns on and and will run continuously. This is before the power
switch on the case is hit. When the power switch is hit, the mb powers
up and the system boots. What gives; seems like a defective ps to me.
This happens at roon temp (73F) so it does not seem to be temperature
related. Please advise, any help appreciated. If this is a feature and
I am being stupid, please still advise

Thanks in advance,

Jim Barker

Thanks, it does have it and i set it soft off no joy. However, i plugged
th ps into an intel board--same problem. I then installed an Antec
truepower in the Gigabyte board and it works fine. So, regardless of
Enermax and the dealer telling me I don't know what i am doing and it
could not possibly be the ps--guess what , it is.
