I bought a used above that has an intermittant screen flicker problem
that is getting progressively worse. The more demanding the use (ie,
Watching videos or viewing heavy web content), the worse the black
lines/flicker. I'm running XP Pro SP2. The laptop originally ran
Win 98.

I've checked the display driver, and it's the most current ATI RAGE
driver available. The person i bought the unit from replaced the
display with no improvement? Any suggestions?
